Honest limit up front
Wordle does not use TWL06 as its answer list. The New York Times game draws daily answers from a curated pool of common five-letter words, and it accepts a larger separate list of guesses. A Scrabble dictionary helper will over-suggest: plenty of TWL five-letter words will never be the Wordle answer (obscure words, odd plurals the answer list avoids, and so on).
Use this tool to organize constraints from your grid. Treat the candidate list as “words that fit the pattern,” then apply Wordle sense: prefer ordinary vocabulary when more than one candidate remains.
How to read your own grid into the tool
Example after two guesses:
- Guess
STARE→ S gray, T yellow, A green, R gray, E yellow - Guess
PANEL→ P gray, A green (confirm), N gray, E yellow (new spot info), L gray
You now know:
- Position 3 is
A - Letters ruled out: S, R, P, N, L (and whatever else went gray)
- Letters in the word but not where you tried them: T, E (track their banned squares)
Feed greens, yellows, and grays the way the UI asks (exact layout varies). The remaining set should shrink hard. If it doesn’t, a yellow/green was mis-entered.
Soft skills the solver won’t do for you
- Duplicate letters. If you guess
PRESSand oneSlights green while the other stays gray, you likely have exactly one S. Enter that carefully. - Vowel shortage. Late grids with only one vowel known are where people guess flashy consonants and stall. Prioritize covering unknown vowel slots.
- Answer-list taste. Between
Troth-tier obscurities andTRACK, Wordle’s answer pool usually favors the word you’d use in a sentence.

Grays: common starters burned
You might still see several fits (CAVES, GAMES, WAVES, MAKES, depending on exact grays). Pick the guess that tests the disputed consonants rather than a stylistic synonym you’ll feel clever about.
FAQ
Some helpers mix broad dictionaries. If Wordle itself rejects the guess, that string isn’t on Wordle’s allowed guess list. Cross it off mentally and keep going.
Up to you. Some people only open a solver after three tough guesses to learn patterning. Others hard-mode the puzzle with no tools. The page still works either way.
Same color logic, four boards. Use the Quordle tool when you’re tracking multiple grids so yellows from board A don’t contaminate board B.
Openers change information quality. The solver only sees what you enter after the fact. A balanced opener still helps before you need the tool.
