TWL06 and Collins word lists
What this tool is for
You’ve got a rack like AEIRST? or a fridge-magnet mess like nratse. You want every playable anagram that fits the letters you still hold, not a motivational paragraph about “dominating” game night.
Type the letters. Blank or wild tiles are usually entered as ? or * depending on how the field is set up on the live tool. Then skim by length. Seven-letter bingos matter in Scrabble. Short dumps matter when the board is clogged.

If you’re studying rather than playing live, sort the list and ask: which of these would I have seen unaided? That habit beats pasting every rack into a solver mid-game.
Dictionaries: pick the one your table uses
TWL06 is the North American tournament Scrabble word list (NASPA lineage). Club Scrabble in the US and Canada generally tracks that family of lists (newer editions exist in clubs; this tool label is TWL06).
SOWPODS / Collins (CSW) is the international list. It includes many words TWL does not (British spellings, wider international vocabulary).
If your group plays Collins and you filter on TWL, you’ll miss legal plays. If you play TWL and filter on Collins, you may “find” words your club will challenge off.
Wordle is a different animal. Its answer list is curated and is not “TWL06 by another name.” A broad unscrambler will suggest five-letter strings Wordle will never use as the answer. Use the Wordle tool when you’re solving Wordle.
Filters that actually help
- Starts with / Ends with: useful when a board hook is fixed (
Son the end of a word, or a vowel lane you must open with). - Must include: force a high-value tile you need to dump (
Z,Q,J). - Exclude: cut letters already committed elsewhere, or letters you’re saving for a later bingo.
Example: rack BDEIORZ, must include Z, starts with nothing fixed. You’re hunting DOZER, ZERO, BRIZE (list-dependent), not every anagram of the full rack.
How to use it without dulling your eye
- Play the turn yourself first when you can.
- After the game, enter racks you struggled with and note the words you missed.
- Drill two-letter and three-letter dumps from those misses.
- Leave the solver closed during rated club games if your rules or your own standards say so.

No. Unscramblers spit out long lists. Two-letter words decide whether a bingo fits. Learn QI, ZA, JO, XI, XU, and the rest for your dictionary.
Wordfeud dictionaries are language-pack specific and not identical to TWL06 or Collins. Treat Scrabble-list output as a starting set, then confirm in-game.
Yes if the live field accepts ? or a blank character. Assigning the blank to different letters changes the set. Try the high-point assignments first when you’re score-hunting.
No. AEIRST makes many words. Only some score, only some leave a decent leave, and only some fit the board. The tool finds anagrams. You still choose the play.
